$ 300,000 FEMA Grant

On Behalf of the South Greensburg VFD, we would like to CONGRADULATE Fire Chief Eric Hardy on writing a huge successful FEMA Grant for a total of $ 300,000. This grant was written as a Regional Grant which included South Greensburg VFD, Hempfield No.2 VFD and also Norvelt VFD. This will be a huge asset to all of ours departments. THANKS AGIAN CHEIF HARDY...KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK.

KYMCO Recalls Utility Vehicles Due to Fire Hazard
An exposed portion of the exhaust system can allow debris such as leaves, brush or other flammable materials to enter the opening and ignite, posing a fire hazard.





Congrats to SGFD

Congratulations to the members of South Greensburg Fire Department. On June 10th 2011, many Westmoreland County Fire Departments traveled into Scottdale Boro for the 2011 Westmoreland County Fire Convention. During this time South Greensburg VFD was voted to host the 2014 Westmoreland County Convention.  This will include a Nice Parade, Battle of the Barrel, a Fair with Live Bands, food and much much more.

Planning is now underway to welcome Westmoreland County Fire Departments and their Members to our lovely BORO for a couple days.  Further information will be posted when available.
